      Hello,

I am unable to access the Image Annotator tool in LabVIEW. I cannot find it in the Functions Palette.

      Screenshot 2025-12-22 160048

However, I do see an Annotator folder present at the following path:

      C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2020\vi.lib\Graiphic\

      Screenshot 2025-12-22 155801

This folder exists alongside other Graiphic modules, but the Image Annotator does not appear in LabVIEW itself. I could not find any documentation or instructions explaining how to enable or access this tool.

If there is any additional installation step, palette configuration, or manual loading process that I may have missed, please let me know. I apologize if this is something obvious that I overlooked.

Kindly advise on how to access or enable the Image Annotator tool in LabVIEW.

Thank you in advance for your support.

        Hello,

        This is expected behavior.

The Image Annotator is currently an internal alpha version. It is not officially released yet, and as such it is not exposed in the LabVIEW Functions Palette nor documented at this stage.

To clarify one important point: the Image Annotator is an individual tool, not a toolkit. Once available, it will appear in the Tools section of LabVIEW, not as a standalone module or toolkit. However, in its current state, it remains an unstable, unfinished alpha, which is why it is intentionally hidden from the LabVIEW UI.

We are still actively testing and refining it, and for that reason we have deliberately not communicated publicly about this tool yet. There is no additional installation step, palette configuration, or manual loading process required on your side at the moment.

A bit more patience is needed. A demo video will be released in the coming days to announce the upcoming arrival of the Image Annotation tool and give a first overview of its capabilities.

The Image Annotator is planned to become available in an upcoming release, around January, once the validation phase is complete.

So what you are seeing is normal, and nothing is missing or misconfigured in your LabVIEW environment.

        Best regards,
        Youssef

          Hi Youssef,

Thank you for the prompt and clear explanation. That clarifies things well.

I understand that the Image Annotator is still in an internal alpha stage and intentionally hidden for now. I’ll keep an eye out for the public announcement and demo once it’s officially released.

Thanks again for the clarification and for sharing the roadmap. Have a great day 🙂
